WA Battery Rebate Scheme
The Western Australian (WA) Government is set to launch the WA Residential Battery Scheme by 1 July 2025, aiming to support households in adopting renewable energy solutions through financial incentives.
Key Features of the Scheme:
- Rebates: A total of 20,000 rebates will be available, with the amount varying based on the electricity provider
- Synergy Customers: Eligible for rebates of $500 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for up to 10 kWh of battery capacity, totaling up to $5,000.
- Horizon Power Customers: Eligible for rebates of $750 per kWh for up to 10 kWh, totaling up to $7,500.
- No-Interest Loans: To assist lower to middle-income households, no-interest loans of up to $10,000 will be offered, facilitating broader participation in the scheme.
The initiative will be implemented in multiple phases starting on or before 1 July 2025 and will be managed by a third-party service provider experienced in similar programs. Households interested in participating are encouraged to register their interest to receive updates as more information becomes available.
