5kWh modular design
Storage can be configured using individual 5kWh battery modules according to the compatible system design.
Cheaper Home Batteries Program
The Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program provides an upfront discount on eligible solar battery installations.
Eligible iStore battery configurations may qualify when supplied and installed as part of a compliant solar battery system.
iStore Solar Battery
The actual discount depends on system capacity, installation date, location, certificate values and complete program eligibility.
Understanding eligibility
Eligibility applies to the complete installed system, not simply the battery product by itself.
The battery, solar connection, inverter, installation and installer must satisfy the program requirements applicable to your property.
The battery must be new, not previously installed and not previously used to claim battery STCs.
The battery must be installed with a new or existing solar PV system with a capacity no greater than 100kW.
The complete battery system must have between 5 and 100kWh of nominal capacity and be installed as one job.
The installed battery configuration must be included on the applicable Clean Energy Council approved product list.
Installation must be completed by a suitably licensed Solar Accreditation Australia accredited installer with the required battery endorsement.
Grid-connected systems must be technically capable of participating in a compatible virtual power plant.
Final eligibility requires professional assessment. Product approval alone does not guarantee a discount. Your retailer and accredited installer must confirm that the complete system, property and installation satisfy the current program requirements.
Check your eligibilityFrom enquiry to installation
The discount is linked to Small-scale Technology Certificates generated by an eligible battery installation.
Your retailer and accredited installer assess the system, confirm eligibility and explain how the certificate value will be applied to your quote.
Review your solar generation, electricity use, existing equipment and the amount of battery storage suitable for your home.
Select an approved battery and compatible inverter configuration that satisfies the current program and property requirements.
Your quote should identify the estimated certificate value and explain how the discount is being applied to the system price.
An appropriately accredited installer completes, commissions and documents the eligible battery installation.
What affects the final discount?
Ask for the discount to be clearly shown on your quote. The estimated value can change if the installation date, battery capacity, certificate market value or final system design changes.

Battery capacity should be selected around your household’s energy use, solar generation and future plans.
The iStore Solar Battery uses a modular design that allows an accredited professional to configure storage around the needs of your property.

Lithium iron phosphate cells and integrated protection systems support stable everyday battery operation.
The published battery specification supports 100% depth of discharge under the stated test and operating conditions.
The protected enclosure supports flexible installation when positioned in accordance with the product requirements.
Compatible iStore hybrid inverter options support residential single-phase and three-phase system designs.
A compatible Backup Box can support selected circuits during an outage when included in a suitable professionally designed system.
Choose capacity for your energy needs, not the rebate alone. A professional should assess your evening electricity use, solar generation, backup expectations, inverter compatibility and future energy requirements before recommending battery capacity.

Eligibility and the final discount depend on the complete installed system. These answers explain the key considerations before requesting a system assessment.
Eligible battery systems can create Small-scale Technology Certificates. A registered agent may provide an upfront discount when the customer assigns the right to create those certificates to the agent.
Yes. An eligible battery may be installed with a new or existing solar PV system of no more than 100kW. The existing electrical system, battery-connected inverter and completed installation must satisfy the applicable program and safety requirements.
Additional capacity may be eligible when the existing battery system has not previously claimed battery STCs. At least 5kWh of nominal capacity must be added, the total system must remain within 100kWh, and the completed configuration must meet current approval and certification requirements.
Eligible systems must have between 5kWh and 100kWh of nominal capacity. STCs can only be claimed for the first 50kWh of usable capacity, with different support factors applying across the eligible capacity tiers.
No product qualifies by itself. The specific battery configuration, inverter, solar connection, installer accreditation and complete installation must satisfy the requirements that apply at the time the system is certified.
Backup operation is not automatically included. It requires a compatible inverter, suitable backup equipment and professional system design. Available backup capacity also depends on the selected configuration and household loads.
The final value can vary with usable battery capacity, installation date, location, certificate market value and system design. Ask for the estimated STC value to be clearly identified in your written quote.
Professional assessment is required. Program requirements and product approvals can change. Eligibility should be confirmed for the complete proposed installation before proceeding.
