iStore Village Energy Partnership Logo

iStore has formed a strategic partnership with fellow Perth-based company, Village Energy.

“Village Energy is a local business, offering smart solutions for solar and battery systems amongst other energy management assets. Their goals and ethos in the industry align closely with those of iStore. We are looking forward to working together to deliver another great solution to our customers” says iStore CEO, Eliese De Oliveira.

The partnership with Village Energy will see the ability to integrate their gateway with iStore inverters. This will enable customers to meet the most recent CSIP-AUS requirements in South Australia. It will also assist customers in Victoria applying for the SolarVIC rebate and customers in Queensland may benefit from Dynamic Exports.

iStore will also be developing a native solution via their current monitoring app (Univers) to meet the CSIP-AUS requirements which is expected to be completed in the coming months. “Whilst having an immediate solution for SolarVic customers has driven our decision to partner with Village Energy, ultimately having an option of either a gateway device or a native solution gives our customers flexibility in the solutions they wish to offer in the long term,” says Eliese. “It also allows our customers to access those more modern energy retail packages that we are seeing become increasingly popular such as those offered by Amber”.

iStore anticipates that the integration with Village Energy and subsequent updates by SolarVic will be complete by 5th May 2024 and will post further updates should that advice change.

What is CSIP-AUS?

‘Common Smart Inverter Profile Australia’ (CSIP-Aus), is a communication protocol that is considered integral to assist electricity networks in the active management of Distributed Energy Resources (DER). It is a local adaptation of the international standard, IEEE 2030.5-2018- which is commonly abbreviated to ‘2030.5’. As Australia continues to forge the way in renewables, it’s of paramount importance that communication protocols are developed to support our grids through this transitional phase.
